This photograph is taken from the villa's balcony; showing stunning south facing views over the Mediterranean. Burriana beach is a blue flag beach and is the best in Nerja. It's a five minute walk down the hill from the villa. The beach is also served by an array of restaurants and a handy supermarket. A stroll along the beachside will be met by Ayo restaurant's famous open fire, cooking palella in a 5 foot palella dish. At five euros a pop, you can't go wrong. People ask whether they need a car whilst staying at the villa. You can certainly have a lovely, restful time at the villa without the need for a car. There are bars and restaurants at the beach (Colonia restaurant is highly recommended) and a supermarket for the everyday items. And it's only a fifteen minute walk into Nerja town. A car will allow you to explore some of the smaller, mostly deserted beaches, along the rugged coastline or to take a trip upto Granada to visit the beautiful Alhambra palace (the most visited attraction in Spain). The drive to Granada takes approximately an hour and a quarter and is well worth it. For those of you who need their shopping fix, there's a large mall a fifteen minute drive away, in Velez-Malaga, which you'll pass on your way from the airport. Here you'll find Zara, Mango and several boutique shops which sell clothes, shoes and bags (sorry gentlemen, have I just spoiled your holiday?). Take advantage of the lower prices than here in the UK. |
